Hobson Garden

Following the renovations, some students from Whanau Hobson identified the garden area behind the eastern wall as an area that needed a makeover.

Over the year we have developed our skills at finding solutions to problems that we encounter, and tackling this garden was next on our list. Around 20 Hobson students wanted to redo the garden as social action. After some research and a good deal of planning they started to dig up the old soil and work in the fertile compost and old bark we found. All plants came from overgrown areas on the school grounds, except the handful of Impatiens flowers that we received as a donation.

Although it was hard work, the students are very proud of what they have achieved and enjoyed getting their hands muddy.
