APPA Music Festival

On Wednesday 29 November the Howick Intermediate School choir participated in the Auckland Primary Principals Association Schools’ Music Festival, the 77th of its kind.

The festival, which is held annually over 8 nights in November, is a wonderful celebration of music in which more than 4,500 children from schools throughout Auckland participate. It is no doubt the largest festival of its type held in New Zealand. Each night has its own special character and repertoire, with a variety of choral, instrumental, dance and cultural items on the programme. Several weeks of practice culminated in an impressive and memorable performance of which all those who participated can be very proud.
